Oak Wilt Qualification Course
The Invasive Species Centre will be hosting an Oak Wilt Qualification Course in partnership with the International Society of Arboriculture, Ontario Chapter on August 19-20, 2019 in Windsor, Ontario.
The Arboriculture Society of Michigan (ASM), a Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture, has developed a qualification course made specifically for Ontario arborists and land managers. This is an advanced-level course for ISA Certified Arborists, certified foresters, and individuals with a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university. If you are not a certified arborist or forester, please contact mdigasparro@invasivespeciescentre.ca with a transcript prior to registering to confirm eligibility.
Participants in this course will receive special training on the identification and management of oak wilt, including a field tour into Michigan to observe infected sites. Participants will also receive the "ASM Oak Wilt Qualified - Ontario" designation upon successful completion of the Michigan Oak Wilt Identification and Management Qualification Course.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided during the in-class portion and boxed lunches will be provided for the field tour. Please indicate on the registration page if you have any dietary restrictions. On the day of training, ensure that you bring any necessary personal protective equipment as well as a valid passport or NEXUS card that will allow entry into the United States for the field tour. Special room rates are available for registrants at the Holiday Inn & Suites Ambassador Bridge. For more information, contact mdigasparro@invasivespeciescentre.ca.
We will be offering Early Bird Pricing through the month of July! Spaces are limited for this event.
