Experienced Track 2019
Session 1 - Nrtta Sadhana:
Eight Palms and Cultivating the Seat of Prana

With Scott Blossom & Chandra Easton

Experienced Track

This fall Chandra and Scott will teach morning classes for experienced students who have learned all three Shadow Yoga Preludes. There will be two six-week sessions, and classes will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6:30-8:00 AM. See below for course details.

Shadow Yoga and Nrtta Sadhana offer a rich abundance of practices that comprise a lifelong journey of self-cultivation. While this may give the appearance of a linear progression, a more accurate image is one of a circular mandala with many access points which revolve around a central axis. In a similar way, the body is a mandala with the four limbs on the periphery and the inner fire, Agni, as the central axis. Hatha Yoga practice stokes this inner fire by churning and purifying the pranic winds through movement, breath, and awareness. The goal of the morning sessions is to inspire consistent, devoted practice for refining our sensitivity, discernment, and connection to our inner intelligence, transformational fire, and light that we all carry inside of us.

In Fall 2019, the first six-week session will focus on the Short Form of the Nrtta Sadhana (Eight Palms) and cultivating our seat of prana through a consistent focus on Hanumanasana and Samakonasana. In the second six-week session we will enter the freestyle Anghara practice with a consistent focus on Mayurasana and Nauli Kriya.   Each six-week course will have one week of Individualized Practice.

Session 1

This session will focus on the Nrtta Sadhana Eight Palms (“Short Form”), Hanumanasana, and Samakonasana. Chandra will teach the first three weeks on the Eight Palms and Hanumanasana and postures from Circular Angahara 1. Scott will carry the practice for the last three weeks of the course, shifting the emphasis to Samakonasana.

We offer this course on a sliding-scale model of $15 - $35 per class. We encourage everyone to give according to their means.

Sliding-scale payment for Session 1: $180 - $420
