About the Presentation:

Come get a quick hit of the latest developments in the State v. Jones case, Arizona cannabis regulatory developments, employment law in the cannabis space, and how to ethically engage with cannabis industry clients.  The presenters are actively engaged in the practice of cannabis law in Arizona, and are happy to have an interactive session, so please bring any questions you may have.

About the Speaker(s): Mike King - Founding Member, Lindsay Schube - Member, Christopher Hering - Member, Richard Mahrle - Member, Timothy N Forsman - Associate

Mike is a founding member of Gammage & Burnham. His practice emphasizes creditors’ rights and construction issues, and also includes consulting and supervising throughout the firm’s areas of business. These include emphasis on creditors’ rights — bankruptcy cases, general litigation, loan documentation, work-outs, foreclosures and forcible detainers– as well as deficiency collection and accounts collection. His client list includes banks, developers, mortgage companies, distributors in various industries, restaurants and leasing companies.  He also has numerous clients in the agricultural, hospitality and non-profit sectors.

Lindsay: With a focus on both the legislative and administrative levels, Lindsay represents land owners and developers before neighborhood organizations, planning commissions and city councils, and other regulatory bodies to obtain land use entitlements; including rezoning approvals, stipulation modifications, variances, use permits, site plan approval, plats, and much more. Lindsay also assists clients in the Medical Marijuana Industry with a primary focus on land use and permitting issues with local cities and counties. She represents landowners and businesses in code enforcement and property violations matters and has experience practicing in the area of homeownership association law.

Christopher: Chris practices commercial litigation, appellate law, construction law, and health care law. He helps his clients achieve their objectives by seeking creative, business-oriented solutions. He has litigated a wide variety of matters, including contracts and commercial law, construction, collections, health care, real estate, election law, municipal law, and administrative law. Chris has been selected by Super Lawyers as one of its Southwest Rising Stars for five consecutive years from 2014 to 2018.

Tim: Tim has experience in a wide array of commercial transactions and corporate governance matters. He has worked with clients to close asset-based term loans, form businesses and non-profits, document mergers and acquisitions, negotiate workouts, draft licensing agreements, and successfully close private placements. Tim regularly works with major lending institutions, healthcare organizations, technology companies, investors and small businesses. Tim graduated first in his class from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, and received the college’s top honor in the John S. Armstrong Award.

Richard:  With a practice that focuses on dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration or litigation, Rick represents clients in state and federal court in commercial disputes involving construction, business dissolutions, corporate governance, contract enforcement and employment matters. In addition to serving as mediator and arbitrator in commercial disputes, Rick is also on the commercial, construction and employment arbitration panels for the American Arbitration Association. Rick’s 40 year career as a successful attorney has solidified him as a go-to presenter and speaker on the issues and challenges associated with mediation, arbitration and litigation. In the past year, he has spoken for a number of organizations, including the Arizona Builder’s Alliance, State Bar of Arizona, National Business Institute, Arizona State University and Park City Bar Association.
