2019 Elkhorn Creek Float Fest

Get your float on! – The 2nd Annual Elkhorn Creek Float Fest is rescheduled for Saturday, August 3 at Peninsula Park! Break out your festive tubes and sunscreen for a relaxing float along Kentucky’s loveliest and longest creeks.

This family-friendly event takes place 11am to 5pm and includes music, food, prizes and an opportunity to learn about your local waterways.

Pre-registration includes general admission of $5 per person (all ages). Pre-registration also provides tube rental guarantee and each registrant will be entered to win one of our awesome summertime prizes (worth up to a $100 value). **Day-of registration will increase admission to $10 per person (all ages).

TUBE RENTALS

Tube rentals will only be available through pre-registration. Single tubes are $10 and double tubes are $13. We also welcome you to BYOT (bring your own tube), and of course – the bigger float, the better!

**Air is available on site.

FLOATING ELKHORN

Floating on Elkhorn Creek is from 11am to 5pm and open to participants to float down as many times as they wish. The float includes one entry point with a “lunchtime” exit point of approx. a 1.5 hour float and a longer exit point of up to a 4 hour float. A wagon will be available for participants at the final exit point to ride back to entry. FLOAT TIMES WILL DEPEND ON THE WEATHER PRIOR TO THE EVENT. These float times are determined by the slowest waterflow of Elkhorn Creek.

LOCATION

Peninsula Park can be found near 101 Payne Avenue in Georgetown, KY. Visitors may enter through Payne Ave. and follow the signs leading to parking and check-in.

IMPORTANT: Life jackets are MANDATORY. State law requires all individuals moving from point A to point B via water to have a life jacket onboard their vessel (tube). All children under the age of 12 years old MUST have a life jacket physically on their persons. 12 years and older are required to have their life jacket with them, whether on or attached to the vessel. ALL FLOAT FEST PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN SIZE APPROPRIATE AND IN GOOD CONDITION LIFE JACKET. Please bring outdoor recreational appropriate footwear. Every individual is required to complete a release of liability waiver prior to getting on Elkhorn Creek. These waivers will be available at check-in.

The Elkhorn Creek Float Fest is a family-friendly event, but we encourage independent swimmers ONLY on the creek. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times!

----> This event will be cancelled if there is suspected inclement weather. Registration guarantees the rain date of Saturday, August 10.

This event is coordinated by Georgetown/Scott County Tourism and Georgetown-Scott County Parks & Recreation.

**We apologize for any inconvenience rescheduling the Elkhorn Creek Float Fest may have caused. The safety of our participants is our number one priority. We look forward to hosting the Elkhorn Creek Float Fest now that all waterways are deemed safe.
