Wild Rose Sunset Ranch Horse Obstacle Contests

THREE DAYS OF HORSE OBSTACLE COMPETITIONS

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY - 6 MILE TRAIL OBSTACLE COMPETITIONS

MONDAY MORNING FUNDAY - OBSTACLES IN CAMP

May 23-25, 2020

Gary and Carole Wilder are volulnteers partnering with Bethany’s Gait in creating opportunities for our fellow equine enthusiasts.  Our goal is to create an enjoyable environment where we challenge ourselves and our horses to advance our skills while enjoying the friendship and camaraderie of other riders.  The upside of this is that 100% of the proceeds go directly to benefit a fantastic 501(c)(3) charity – Bethany’s Gait - for support of their programs.

Bethany’s Gait is dedicated to “Rescuing Horses, Restoring Lives”.  The programs were created specifically for active duty, reserve and veteran military personnel, first responders and their families.  One of the things that makes the program unique is that Bethany’s Gait is also a horse rescue.  They have found that bringing the rescue horses together with the people offers a dynamic situation where horse and human heal through a bond that is developed based on unconditional love, unwavering trust and a keen understanding of what the other has been through.  Bethany’s Gait is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ranch in Prescott, Arizona.

NEW LOCATION -- NEW TERRITORY TO EXPLORE.  This is by far the most "Arizona" ride we do.  The rides on Saturday and Sunday include all natural obstacles as you are riding in beautiful juniper trees at a 5500 foot elevation - so expect the same weather as Paulden, AZ.  You will be riding in the hills and varied terrain among cliffs and rock outcroppings.

Sunset Ranch offers boarding lessons, trail riding, camping with or without horses and special event hosting.

Seligman, Arizona is the birthplace of America's Main Street - Route 66.  And in 1987 old Route 66 between Seligman and Kingman was declared Historical Route 66.  Full of reto shopping, diners and motels, it is the perfect place to start a Route 66 road trip.  Visit the Route 66 General Store - obviously it has Route 66 memorabilia but it is really a general store - your "one stop shopping" with everything you neeed from snack items, hardware, propane and souvenirs to hunging and fishing supplies.

Live auction will be held Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.  – clean out your tack room, trailer and closets and bring your good items valued at $25 or more for the live auctions to benefit Bethany’s Gait.  You always find some great items at this sale.  Bring it – we can sell it!  Don't forget to pick a treasure or two to take home with you.  A few items we know will be on the auction - an original framed western print; some custom-made jewelry; and a western tin print.

DIRECTIONS:  43055 W. Layne Paulson Drive, Seligman, AZ  86337

30-minutes west of Seligman, AZ; 60 minutes East of Kingman on I-40.  Take Exit 103, Jolly Road, turn right (north) at stop sign. The road curves left and parallels the freeway West.  Follow this road for roughly 4 miles (two miles old blacktop and two miles well-mainted dirt) and it will take you directly to the Ranch.  Watch for the Wild Rose Signs.  You will come to the back gate first.  We will have signage to direct you in from there.

If you use GPS, DO NOT TAKE Cross Mountain Exit 96.  ONLY USE EXIT 103 - JOLLY ROAD.
