High-Tech Apprenticeships for an Industry 4.0 World

Industry 4.0 and the skills gap are transforming the way the manufacturing world operates. Businesses need sustainable pipelines of talent that can adapt to today’s high-tech, connected factory environment. Apprenticeships and workforce training programs are one answer to this complex problem.

This workshop will facilitate peer-to-peer connections and best-practice exchange between leaders from the US and Germany—connections that will support companies as they navigate the changing workforce.

Our featured speakers are:

  • Pavan Muzumdar - Automation Alley

Company Representatives

  • Roland Biebl - ZF
  • Peter Loetzner - EMAG LLC

Education Professionals

  • Andreas Brockmann - Festo Didactic
  • Dr. Patricia Chatman - Henry Ford College
  • Jan Künzel - BBS Neustadt Technical School

In addition to input from our experts, the workshop will focus on interactive discussion and development of best-practice recommendations. A light lunch will be provided.

Workshop attendees are also invited to see some of these initiatives for themselves, with visits to Brose North America and EMAG LLC on Thursday, August 22. Information on how to join the site visits will be be provided at the workshop or on request.

The local program will be followed by a separate study trip to Germany, which will take place from October 21-25, 2019.
