According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) , it is estimated that more than 20 million men, women, and children around the world are victims of human trafficking. Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery.

Florida is ranked third in the United States for human trafficking. This is a huge and complex problem in our state, and addressing it effectively will require multi-sectoral involvement. Individuals, organizations, agencies and coalitions, will need to work together to raise awareness, provide education, and develop appropriate and intervention strategies.

Please join us for the Florida Department of Health's Human Trafficking Symposium on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The theme is "Addressing Human Trafficking as a Public Health Issue in Florida".
