According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) , it is estimated that more than 20 million men, women, and children around the world are victims of human trafficking. Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery.
Florida is ranked third in the United States for human trafficking. This is a huge and complex problem in our state, and addressing it effectively will require multi-sectoral involvement. Individuals, organizations, agencies and coalitions, will need to work together to raise awareness, provide education, and develop appropriate and intervention strategies.
