An experience of painting as an extended deep meditation on what it means to be alive. Utilizing the attitudinal foundations of mindfulness practice and silence, participants will rely on non-judgmental present moment awareness to access inner landscapes through line, form, and color.

The intention of this workshop will be to allow ourselves to step into the spirit of exploration through mindfulness and the creative process. Initially, we will drop into silence and begin the process with taking our seat, settling into ourselves through breath and sensory-based mindfulness practices. We will engage in moment-to-moment presence as we tape our canvas paper onto the covered wall, walk toward the central table of paints, choose a brush and one color and move back to the canvas. The mindful movement and spontaneous interaction between our brush and the canvas will continue for the greater part of our time together.

We will conclude the session with a written dialogue designed to integrate the magic of the here and now imagery with elevated awareness of deeper selves. There will be a period of written dialogue with the imagery and opportunities to process the experience in pairs and within the community.
