Obstetrical Crisis Management

PPH and Shoulder Dystocia-NBIMC 

Specifically designed as a training program for Obstetrical interns/providers, this course will: 

-Review teamwork and communication principles associated with TeamSTEPPS    

-Demonstrate specific skills for managing obstetrical emergencies                                                                        

-Discuss the complications, risk factors, and appropriate documentation for specific obstetrical emergencies 

Participants may include s medical residents, and attending physicians.

 Educator: Robert J. DiBenedtto, MD is an OB/GYN who has practiced in Essex, Morris and Hunterdon Countries since the late 1970 both privately and educationally, institutionally and as an attending physician in his specialty and supportively as a general surgery assistant.

Victoria DeSantos, MD, FACOG, is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in microbioloy with a chemistry minor from Ohio University. She then received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her OBGYN residency at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ where she served as the administrative chief resident in her last year of training. She is currently an active fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 

Aside from being in private practice at New Beginnings OBGYN in Springfield, NJ, she is also a full-time Attending Physician on the medical staff at St. Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. DeSantos sits on the Residency Review Committee. She is also an active participant in the residency program at Saint Barnabas Medical Center helping to train current residents by participating as a supervisor in the resident clinic.

Some accolades of her career include, "Best Second Year Resident" award and being awarded the Lefkovics MD Resident Research Day Award for her senior research project.  This project presentation also got her second place at the New Jersey MFM Society meeting the same year. 

She currently resides in West Orange with her husband and two children.
