PPH and Shoulder Dystocia-NBIMC 

Objectives:

1) Identify and demonstrate appropriate application of skills for: Foley placement, Feeding tubes and nasogastric tubes, Butterfly blood draws, Tube colors for different blood draws, Starting IV lines, Angiocaths, Starting IV Bags/Fluid bolus, Primary and Secondary tubing...

2) Integrate effective team communication

Russini Floresca BSN RN, CEN, CCRN – Clinical InstructorRussini has been employed with SBMC for 17 years and has been a nurse for 29 years.  She is certified as an Emergency Nurse and a Critical Care Nurse.  She primarily worked in the CardioThoracic Intensive Care Unit prior to joining the Department of Nursing Education & Research in 2019.  She covers the whole hospital as the night shift Clinical Instructor.

Marcella Klepacki BSN, RNC-OB
Marcella has been a member of the Department of Nursing Education & Research as a Clinical Instructor covering Family Centered Care since 2019.  She has been a nurse for 31 years focusing on OB patients and families.

Naomi Fox MSN, RN, CCRN – Director of Nursing Education & Research

Naomi has been employed in Saint Barnabas Medical Center since 2007.  She has worked as a staff nurse on the Burn Step Down Unit, the Burn Intensive Care Unit and the Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care Unit.  She is certified as a Critical Care Nurse.  Naomi joined Nursing Education in 2016 as a Clinical Instructor.  She is now the Director of the Department of Nursing Education & Research.  She adjuncts as a clinical Instructor for Rutgers University and completed her Masters of Nursing Education clinical rotation at The Russell Berrie Institute for Simulation Learning at Holy Name Medical Center.

Mary Velardi-Stoffel MSN, RN, HNB-BC
Mary has been employed with SBMC since 2005 in a variety of roles within the Emergency Department and the Oncology Department.  Most recently, she joined the Department of Nursing Education & Research in 2017 as a Clinical Instructor covering medical/surgical units and the oncology service line.  She is certified as a Holistic Nurse.  Mary is passionate about simulation learning because “It provides individuals with the opportunity to learn without being under pressure and creates a safe, supportive environment for learning thus building confidence with skills”.
