Topics will include:

  • Biochar in Green Infrastructure (GI)

To many, the use of GI is a new approach to managing urban stormwater runoff, volumes and

quality. GI manages stormwater runoff by using natural ecosystems and/or engineered systems

that mimic natural systems. The presentation will discuss opportunities and benefits of

integrating biochar into GI practices along with a number of project examples. Chuck Hegberg,

During this interactive session, attendees will use design thinking principles to determine

commercialization opportunities for biochar. By leveraging a cross disciplinary approach, the goal

for this session will be to identify pathways for potential profitability and commercialization of

biochar.
