LOCATION: Thunderhill Overlook BRP MP 290.4 to Goshen Creek crossing BRP MP 285.5
TIME: Meet 9 am on Saturday, September 7th
HIKE DESCRIPTION: This five mile hike is mostly forested along the Blue Ridge escarpment. From the Thunderhill Overlook hikers will proceed north to Goshen Creek. Mostly downhill , this hike begins on the edge of forever with 100 mile views and crosses several forested areas with interesting rock formations. It then descends into field and forest hiking. There will be a short roadside walk in the mid section and then entering the forest hikers will follow along a classic mountain stream. Bridges span all water crossings and the cool damp creekside forest is quite inspiring.
LENGTH OF HIKE: 5.2 Miles
DIFFICULTY: Moderate
MEETING LOCATION: Hikers will meet at Thunderhill Overlook (Blue Ridge Parkway mile post 290.4.) at 8:30 am for shuttle.

OTHER LOGISTICS: Meet Thunderhill Overlook at 8:30 and cars will be shuttled to the completion point at Goshen Creek. Hikers will return to Thunderhill and will begin the hike there at 9:00 am.
