Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome Foundation International Family Conference 2019

The WSS Conference will bring together families and medical professionals from around the world to connect, learn and share their knowledge and experiences. The multi-day event will feature family activities, updates on medical research, the latest therapy techniques and expert presentations to help those diagnosed with WSS to reach their full potential.

Costs

The registration fee of $275 allows for two adults and one child from the same family to attend any and all portions of the clinical conference days. That fee covers beverages, morning snacks, and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. A pre-determined menu will be posted.

FAQs

What airport should I/we fly into?

Sugar Land is closest to Houston Hobby Airport. Other airports in Houston are viable, but may be a bit further of a drive.

How do I get from the airport to the Sugar Land Marriott?

You may choose to utilize a private airport shuttle company, taxi, UBER, LYFT, or rental car. Sugar Land is about a 35 minute drive from Houston Hobby and a hour drive from George Bush Intercontinental.

What hotel is being utilized for the block room rate and how do I make reservations?

Sugar Land Marriott Town Square. This is where the conference will be held and where we have a room block for reduced rates. To get the reduced room rate, please book via: Marriott Sugar Land Group Reservations or call 1-800-227-9290 and say that you are part of the WSS Foundation Conference. Standard King and Double rooms are being offered at a base price of $139/night. Each room does have a mini-fridge. There is no parking fee and the nightly internet fee will be waived. The hotel sits directly on the town square with easy access to dining and shopping. If you are wanting to request adjoining rooms or rooms nearby to one another, please make your reservation via the website or the 1-800 number and then call the hotel directly at 281-275-8400 and make your request for adjoining or nearby rooms. The adjoining rooms only adjoin a King room to a double double room. There are no adjoining rooms that are double double to double double.

* We recognize that there may be lower priced hotels in the vicinity; however, we do request your consideration of staying at the conference hotel. We have a minimum amount of rooms that we have to fill in order to keep our costs down.

What if I will be attending the conference, but my spouse and child(ren) will be out and about exploring Sugar Land (or any other scenario thereof), can they join us just for lunch?

Yes, your registration covers two adults and one child, thus the other adult and one child can come to lunch under your registration fee. Any additional adults and/or children may pay an a’la carte fee for lunch as is offered on the registration page.

The regional center or other entity we are affiliated will reimburse some/all of our registration fee and I need a receipt, proof of attendance, or other required document. Whom do I contact?
