The Practice-Based Coaching Training Institute (PBCTI) is an intensive 2-day event intended for coaches implementing the Practice Based Coaching model. During the PBCTI, coaches will learn how to use Practice-Based Coaching to support staff’s use of high-quality teaching and home-visiting practices.

The training content has been expanded to include coaching in center-based, home-based and family child care program options. Discussion will include coaching to fidelity with a emphasis on using research-based teaching practices.
The PBCTI is designed for staff who provide direct coaching to Head Start staff. These coaches may be supporting classroom teachers, home visitors, family child care providers, or others who work directly with children or families.
Verlinda has worked in the early childhood field for 30 years 24 of them have been with Head Start. Her experience in Head Start includes being a teacher, director and Education manager. She has been part of Region V TTA system for 7 years. She holds a Master of Education in Early Childhood Administration from National Louis University.
Michelle Sudberry, Early Childhood Specialist
Michelle Sudberry is an Early Childhood Specialist for STG International Region V team. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with concentration in Child Development from Tennessee State University, as well as her Master of Education with concentration in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. Michelle has served the Head Start and Early Head Start communities since 2005 in various capacities ranging from a Head Start Teacher, to a Child Development Specialist, an Education & Inclusion Coach, and as an Education Manager. Michelle continues to demonstrate her love for early education and Head Start as she is currently providing training and technical assistance to Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
