Orvis Portland Intro to Fly Fishing Class
Orvis Portland is offering a Intro to Fly Fishing Class. The class is designed for someone looking to get into fly fishing at an entry level. This class will cover basic casting & line management, knots & basic rigging, fly selection, and of course fishing with your newly learned skills.
The class is limited to 4 anglers, below is a list of what you will need for the workshop:
- Shoes that can get wet or water shoes (if you get into this, you will want waders and wading shoes with studs for optimal traction)
- Polarized sunglasses for eye safety and cutting the glare on the water
- Hat for protection from fly and fly line and also sun protection.
- Optional camera
- Dress appropriately for the weather, and you will be doing some basic wading while you are fishing. "Wet" wading should be fine, and you can wear a bathing suit or wet wading pants and spf sun shirt.
- Optional wading staff can help people wade more safely.
- Valid ODFW angling license
- water and snacks
We will provide for the class:
- Rod/reel/line use
- We will provide flies, leader, and tippet
- We have wading staffs for classes, and Erik will have a few with him.
- We have limited waders/wading boots for possible loaner use during the class.
Cost is $100 per person (non-refundable). Cancellations will be accepted until 7 days prior for the scheduled date, otherwise you will forfeit the reservation for your spot.
