Democratizing the DBQ:
Reading and Writing in Social Studies and ELA for All Students, Grades 4-12
For: Grades 4-12 History/Social Science and Language Arts Teachers
Are you looking for ways to incorporate more and better inquiry lessons into your courses? Do you need some ideas about how to keep the rigorous work of reading and writing engaging for students?
This lively one-day training will provide social studies and language arts teachers in grades 4-12 with instructional strategies, sample lessons, and more confidence for teaching document-based questions. Our instructional approach is designed to inspire great teaching and learning while meeting the goals of the new C3 Framework and Career and College Readiness Standards. Our materials aligned with Utah State Standards and have been approved as a supplemental resource. Beth Montgomery of the DBQ Project will provide practical, hands-on experience spotlighting materials from The DBQ Project Library.
Purchase of binders or a DBQ Online subscription is encouraged but not required.
Registration fee of $50 per person includes workshop, a sample lesson, and lunch.
