The Spotted Lanternfly: Overview, Management Options, and Pesticide Application Safety

Course description: The Spotted lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula or "SLF") is an invasive insect first detected in Pennsylvania in 2014. It causes damage to trees and other woody plants by feeding on their sap. While the primary host plant of SLF is the invasive tree-of-heaven, researchers have found that it also targets grapevines, hops, and fruit trees, giving it the potential to become a serious agricultural pest.  The Spotted Lanternfly has not been found to have established (yet) in New England. But we want you to be prepared! This 3-hour presentation will provide a comprehensive look at the pest, management options and safe pesticide application for plant health care specialists in New England. 2.25 ISA CUEs, 3 Pesticide CEUs
