In this training, we will discuss the definition of co-teaching, essential components of co-teaching, the most commonly used models for implementation, and how to incorporate specially designed instruction into co-taught classes. More specifically, we will discuss how to choose which model to implement based on a variety of factors such as the needs of the students, the expertise of the teachers, and pragmatic considerations.  Next, we will discuss the essential components that are needed in order for co-teaching to be successful, as well as co-planning strategies and co-instructional strategies designed to meet the individual needs of students.
