The 2019 Building Partnerships...Working Together Conference will be educational, enlightening and informative for parents, special education professionals and advocates! The conference is also a great networking and relationship building opportunity for those interested in improving outcomes for students with disabilities in Mississippi.

Keynote Speaker Day 1: Kerry Magro

Award Winning and Breakthrough Advocate Kerry Magro knew early on that he wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. Kerry was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) a form of autism, at age 4. Growing up Kerry’s future was very uncertain.

Today however, after countless hours of therapy and the support of a loving family, Kerry has conquered many of his challenges. Now as an adult Kerry is a professional speaker, best-selling author, movie consultant and non-profit founder.

In 2011, Kerry won a scholarship for graduate school through the National Speakers Association which allowed him to become a national motivational speaker. Since that time he has spoken at over 600 events around the country in the past 9 years on disability related topics.

Keynote Speaker Day 2: Tommie Mabry

Tommie Mabry, is the founder of Tommie Mabry Company and Best Selling Author of A Dark Journey To a Light Future and If Tommie Can Do It, We Can Do It.  He strives to give educators and students a true look at many factors that daunt academic achievement.  His platform tackles the experiences and challenges that at-risk students face in communities and educational environments.  By focusing on real-life topics such as, bullying, life skills, classroom management and more, it gives students a positive outlook on teaching and learning and the ability to balance.

As an advocate for education and student success, he travels around the country encouraging educators to focus on the whole student and motivating youth to never give up on hope.  The Tommie Mabry Company has touched many lives and opened doors for youth by acknowledging his personal struggles and demonstrating my success after graduating from Tougaloo College with a Masters of Arts in Child Development and developing the Tommie Mabry Company.
