Crash Photography - September 23 & 24, 2019 

This course will explore photography processes and skills for crash investigation. Hands-on activities will allow the participants to practice their skills and obtain feedback on their photographs. Class will be held during the day and in the evening to capture different light levels.

The student will learn the proper procedures for taking crash scene photographs to ensure they are a fair and accurate depiction of the scene as they found it.  The course will cover the use a tripod for day time and night time photography, the different settings on a DSLR camera, the use of these settings, and a low light field time for the student to use the techniques covered, along with a review of their work.  The student will learn how to use camera settings other than automatic or program to better capture the entire crash scene.  The limitations of the camera flash (internal and external) will be discussed and better techniques will be shown for low light situations.   

Course hours are: Monday 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
                          Tuesday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Equipment needed:
* Digital Camera (DSLR preferred)
* More than one Media Card
* Tripod
*Hotshoe Flash and remote from Camera (if you have one)

Course is approved for 16 POST Hours.
Course is pending approval for 16 ACTAR Credit hours.

*We will need a minimum of 12 attendees for this course to be held.  The rate is $178.00 per person.
