Inaugural Latino Economic Unsummit:

Breaking the Box!

The Latino Chamber of Commerce of SE Wisconsin is calling for the 1st Latino Economic UnSummit with a focus on the Southeastern Wisconsin region. This Unsummit focuses on igniting structural and meaningful change to the Latino Entrepreneurial Ecosystem.

Since its inception the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Southeastern Wisconsin has been holding business listening sessions in our service area for two years. Through these sessions, we learned that there are key factors impairing the growth and scaling-up of Latino-owned enterprises. This Unsummit will convene a series of Engagement Circles where entrepreneurs will have authentic conversations with policy makers, procurement officers and private service providers.

OUR FORMAT - An Unsummit

Many Summits are conducted as a unidirectional communications. They feature topic experts presenting to an audience allowing perhaps 5 minutes for questions and answers. Participants leave with a lot of questions and their participation is minimal. In our case, an Unsummit, will are changing the model. We will feature topic experts who will have conversations with attendees in a format called: Engagement Circles. Participants will have equal participation, can ask questions, express their opinions and concerns, and drive the agenda.

Why should I attend?

If you are an entrepreneur facing challenges with access to capital, workforce programs, health insurance, business opportunities, immigration or wish to acquire and develop real estate, DO not miss this opportunity!

Service Providers and Corporations

If you are genuinely interested in better serving the Latino Market with culturally relevant products and services. This is a great opportunity to receive feedback from and start your primary market research.

Policy Makers and Implementers

If you are concerned about how policies that you are championing may impact the Latino growing community in this region you should attend. A recent study by the Wisconsin Policy Forum indicates that Latinos represent the net population gain in the Milwaukee-Waukesha-Washington area yet we lag in economic prosperity/equity and our businesses are smaller and with less revenues than mainstream.
