Join us in San Marcos, TX for a one-day class to learn how to evaluate threats and prevent active shooter incidents and other targeted violence in schools. Threat assessment is recognized as the current best practice for preventing school-based violence, as well as workplace violence and campus violence. The training will also cover how to use threat assessment procedures to prevent targeted violence in other sectors, including workplace violence, campus violence, and violence against public figures.
In this one-day class, hosted by the San Marcos CISD, SIGMA's experts will teach participants how to use threat assessment procedures to investigate threats and other disturbing behavior in schools, follow step-by-step procedures to assess the threat, and - where necessary - develop and implement plans to reduce risk and help maintain school safety. The class includes multiple tabletop exercises where participants can learn, practice, and hone their use of school threat assessment procedures. The class is appropriate for law enforcement professionals, school personnel, school security professionals, emergency management professionals, mental health professionals, and anyone else who may be involved in addressing threatening behavior. Participants will receive handouts, case worksheets, and a course completion certificate. Course fee is $250 per person.
