Shorebirds and Wild Edibles

Join Littoral Society naturalists for a hike down a sandy path to one of the least visited beaches at Sandy Hook. Along the way we will identify some of the Hook’s edible plants that were an important food source for the early settlers and Native Americans that once inhabited this area. Once we reach the tip of Sandy Hook, we will have the chance to observe shore birds feeding along the mud flats. Bring binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, and lots of sunscreen! Meet at 10:00 am, Parking Lot M.

See you there!
