PGR
Patellar Groove Replacement

Essential for managing the full spectrum of patellar luxation

PGR is a promising advancement for the care of canine patello-femoral degenerative joint disease. Conventional treatments remain effective for patients with grade 1 – 2 patella luxation. For more complex scenarios, those combining multiple deformities or subsequent to trauma, the PGR has proven extremely effective.

The surgical technique is deceptively simple; it requires that surgeons make a thorough evaluation of the entire hind limb.

KYON PGR Training is appropriate for veterinary surgeons with well-rounded orthopedic experience, knowledgeable in fracture plating, corrective osteotomies and/or TPLO/TTA techniques. Complications are minimal, usually related to technical errors, and are easily avoided with comprehensive instruction and modest practice. Your OR and hospital should be suitable for orthopedic surgery, including joint replacement.

Some surgeons/clinics will have more preparation to do than others. We are happy to discuss your specific circumstances and chart a path.
