Japanese Mud Dye Workshop

We are excited to welcome Sarah Jamison, owner of Firefly Fiber Arts Studio, and dyer of their Earthly Line, to Nina Chicago for a Japanese Mud Dye Workshop! You will be creating your own hand-painted organic cotton scarf as you learn the history of these ancient pigments. Bringing her experience and knowledge back from Japan, Sarah will instruct you on the techniques to prep and dye your organic cotton scarf with the beautiful earthy tones of the Japanese Mud Dyes. Workshop fee includes all materials.

About Japanese Bengala Mud Dyes:
These ancient pigment dyes come from the earth, making them 100% eco-friendly. No heat or chemical mordants are needed to dye, keeping the wool chemically unchanged and allowing us to save on water use. Because the dye is naturally sourced, there is no special disposal. It’s safe for waterways, the soil, and you.
