“A Budding Industry: Cannabis and Commercial Real Estate”

The cannabis industry is one of the fastest growing in the United States; in 2018 it boasted 182,541 businesses, generated $6.4 billion in revenue, paid $1.8 billion in wages and exhibited an annual growth rate of 21%. The CREW Dallas September luncheon will feature Irina Dashevsky and Ryan Holz, both attorneys with Locke Lord LLP’s Cannabis Industry Group. Irina and Ryan will present an overview on the current state of the cannabis industry – including recreational and medical use, hemp, and CBD – and the wide range of issues impacting commercial real estate professionals both in Texas and nationwide. The presentation will include discussion of landlord/tenant relations, financing precautions, and regulation at the federal, state, and local levels.
