Issues surrounding immigration are in the news everyday. To build a wall, or not to build a wall. The separation of children from their families at the border. In this discussion, we will look at the American immigration policy and compare it both to previous eras in American history but also to other trends in developing countries. Most importantly, we will discuss the impact of American immigration policy on the lives of immigrants, especially the children.
Dr. Brittany Arsiniega is an Assistant Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Furman University. After attending the University of Colorado at Boulder where she graduated first in her class in International Affairs and Spanish, she spent three years working in both North and South America. After completing her work, she attended the University of California, Berkely for a dual J.D./Ph.D. degree in Jurisprudence and Social Policy.
