Facilitating Learning with the 2019
Wisconsin Standards for World Languages
Contemporary world language classrooms prepare students to be world-ready with functional language proficiency, intercultural skills and global competence. This workshop will help educators prepare to plan and facilitate learning with the revised Wisconsin Standards for World Languages. Following an introduction to the standards, participants will deepen and check their understanding through collaborative tasks.
Participants will be able to:
Participants should bring: curriculum, units, performance assessments, or lesson plans for individual or group standards-based instructional planning. Time will be dedicated for that purpose in the afternoon
Audience: classroom teachers, world language department Chairs, instructional coaches, directors of instruction, and educator effectiveness evaluators.
Facilitator: Pam Delfosse
Pam serves as the International Education and World Languages Consultant for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Her professional practice is dedicated to providing all students equity in access to the benefits of language, intercultural, and global learning. Pam is a former English as a Second Language and Japanese language educator. Her work is informed by her preparation as a Principal and Director of Instruction, and a Master’s degree in Educational Policy. Nationally, she supports teacher education and student language learning in less-commonly taught languages as a STARTALK Team Leader and serves on the Advisory Board for the Center for International Education Exchange. Pam’s areas of expertise include program evaluation, instructional coaching, instructional design, and assessment.

If you are not certain if your district is a CESA #1 Title III Consortium Member, please reach out to Kristy Schroeder prior to registration. Those who attend that are not CESA #1 Title III members will be charged in full.
