Please note 2019 refund policy:

Cancellations for the regular full day Intensive prior to 12/1/19 will be given minus a $20 administrative fee. Cancellations made after this date will only be given for medical or family emergencies and still incur the administration fee. 

No refunds/cancellations, no exceptions, after December 1st for any of the optional private sessions you book.

If you are paying by check please mail by November 20th to make sure we receive prior to the cancellation/refund date


 

JCF Musical Theatre Intensive 2019 


REGISTRATION NOW OPEN 

The JCF Musical Theatre Intensive Program works to provides masterclass level opportunities for audition and performance growth. This year we are thrilled to offer multiple full day tracks available for ages 8 through adult to develop and integrate skill-building for acting, singing, and movement all while working with industry professionals. 

Highlights of the program include:

  • Personalized coaching in acting and monologue work from contemporary to classical
  • Vocal focus on preparation, building  and audition songbook, and audition technique 
  • Practice interview sessions, improv, breath and body work, mock auditions, and more 
  • Sessions are tailored and available as individualized tracks that will run concurrently based on age/experience 
  • Ask the expert roundtables
  • NEW this year: Limited number of 30-minute private classes on Monday evening with our visiting coaches (available at an additional fee/open until slots are full)

To register, simply click on the registration button below. There is a flat fee for our full 3-day session starting at $299 (increases to $349 November 30th).

Once you click on the fee to pay, select the appropriate aged based track to be registered in the correct sessions. Note, the private classes can be selected at this time but they are extremely limited and available at an additional fee.

 

JCF Musical Theatre Intensive 2019 Schedule 

 

Monday December 30th, 2019 9am to 5pm

Tuesday December 31st, 2019 9am to 5pm

Wednesday January 1st, 2020 10am start time with student showcase at 3pm

- last day informal student cabarets will be offered 

-Optional 30 minute private lessons available for an additional fee Monday evening between 5pm and 7pm with visiting voice and acting coaches.

Registration and Requirements:

Please see individual track details inside registration form for what you need to prepare. 

PERFORMERS ages 8-15 please come prepare with:

  • 2 prepared songs with sheet music 
  • 16 bars Broadway musical selection pre-1965
  • 16 bars Broadway musical selection in the ‘pop/rock genre’ (one needs to be          a belt style) 
  •  1 Monologue: memorized and age appropriate and 1 minute in length

 

PERFORMANCE SKILLS PERFORMERS ages 16 through adult PREPARE: 

  • 2-3 prepared songs with sheet music  
  • 16 bars Broadway musical selection pre-1965 
  • 16 bars Broadway musical selection in the ‘pop/rock genre’ 
  • 16 bars free choice of genre, (men should have at least one 'belt' selection)
  • 2 Constrasting Monologues: memorized and age appropriate and 1 minute in length
  • 1 Shakespearean monologue
  • 1 modern/contemporary monologue

 

All participants must submit a copy of their sheet music and monologue selections for the workshop by 12/10/19. Materials must be memorized. Also, please bring copies with you for the sessions in a binder with pencil to take notes.

The focus of this intensive is to provide highly specific, hands-on, and focused work for each participant. Each of our three individual tracks will be limited to groups of 14 students maximum, no exceptions, so register early to save your spot!

Light snacks and water will be provided, as well as a complimentary JCF Intensive t-shirt.
