Summary
Brian  will discuss current events and how they impact the U.S. economy and financial markets. For example, does a manufacturing slowdown have as big an impact as high consumer discretionary spending? How will globally low interest rates impact the U.S. fixed income market and currency rates? Where will the tariff war will have the greatest impact? Brian will also leave time for question and answer with attendees.

Biography
Brian, Chief Investment Strategist and leader of the Investment Strategy Group, provides strategic investment and portfolio management advice to both institutional and private clients. Brian’s group produces several investment strategy publications on a regular basis, with particular focus on both the US and Canadian equity markets. In his more than 26 years in the investment industry, Brian has held various strategy and research positions, most recently as the Chief Investment Strategist at Oppenheimer & Company. He has also spent time as the Chief US sector Strategist at Merrill Lynch and the fundamental market strategist at Piper Jaffray.

Brian is frequently quoted in the financial press, including regular appearances on CNBC, as well as other media outlets such as Bloomberg and BNN. In addition, he was named the most accurate strategist on Wall Street according to a 2004 poll conducted by USA Today. Most recently, his forecast for the US stock market in 2012 was within one point, while his 2014 forecast missed by less than 9 points. Brian holds a B.Sc. degree from St. Cloud State University and is located in both New York and Toronto.

This will include changing trends as well as the driving factors that insurers consider as they approach your renewals. Litigation and claim trends will be addressed with their impact on both capacity and premiums for specific lines of coverage. Potential strategies for improving your risk profile will be discussed to mitigate dramatic program changes, as well as considerations for alternative risk financing.

Biography
Christian Irle is the Managing Director of Commercial Risk Brokerage in Aon’s Chicago office. He oversees the brokerage teams of multiple lines of coverage, responsible for designing insurance programs to match the client’s risk profile along with their risk tolerance. He is also responsible for insurance carrier relationships.

Christian has been with Aon over 27 years. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BS in Economics.

Biography
Dick Stackpool is the Central Region Product Leader for Aon’s Financial Services Group.  He is responsible for the marketing and brokerage, client service and claims advocacy of Management Liability programs, including Directors & Officers, Employment Practices, Fiduciary, Crime, Professional, Kidnap & Ransom, IPO’s and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Dick has been with Aon over 22 years and is located in the Minneapolis office.  He is a graduate of St. Cloud State with a BS in Finance and Economics.

We will focus specifically on how these factors impact local and regional markets and financial institutions. 

David Stein, who runs the retail banking business for Green Bay-based Associated Banc-Corp, will present viewpoints from the largest bank headquartered in Wisconsin.

Executive Vice President, Head of Consumer & Business Banking | Associated Bank

Biography
David Stein joined Associated Bank in 2005 and is currently the executive vice president and head of consumer & business banking. He oversees consumer and business banking activities in the majority of the branches across Associated Bank's three-state footprint of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. Stein also leads Associated Bank’s residential lending and retail payments businesses plus the company’s efforts directed at small and mid-sized businesses. He also serves on the executive committee for Associated Banc-Corp.

Stein brings more than 30 years of banking experience to Associated Bank, most recently in the position of regional president for the former South Central region, which encompassed all lines of business in Madison and southwestern Wisconsin. Previously, he spent 16 years with JPMorgan Chase (formerly Bank One) in Wisconsin and at Bank One’s former headquarters in Columbus, Ohio where he held a number of progressively responsible management positions across several lines of business.

Stein holds a master’s degree in business administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Stein lives in Madison and is active in several community organizations. He was also appointed in 2014 by Governor Scott Walker as a trustee for, and now chairs, the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, which oversees management of over $100 billion in state pension funds.
