2019 CDLA and CTLA Legal Professionalism CLE and Reception
In honor of Legal Professionalism Month, CDLA and CTLA are hosting a reception and special CLE ethics discussion. The associations will honor this year’s Professionalism Award recipients and speakers at this year’s event:

Mr. Nixon and Mr. Wahlberg will present “Concrete Actions for Putting Professionalism Into Practice, and the Impact of CBA Ethics Opinion 137”
· Discussion of why professionalism matters and integrity is not an out of date concept;
· How powerful advocacy can be accomplished without compromising civility toward adversary or the bench;
· Examples of situations that got out of control, and how they could have been handled better;
· Practical and concrete advice on how to communicate in writing, in email, in phone and in person;
· The presenters will discuss Ethics Opinion 137 and their interpretation of how it impacts civil attorneys on both sides of the bar (Ethics Opinion 137 can be found here https://www.cobar.org/Portals/COBAR/Repository/committees/Ethics/137.pdf?ver=2019-06-10-131915-283 )
