Join us on Thursday September 26th for our second Flight Night! We will feature 2015 Cardinale and the wines from Hickinbotham, made by the same phenomenal winemaker, Chris Carpenter. For $35 you will get a 2oz pour of each wine and then be able to purchase a discounted glass and hang out with Stephon Godina from Hickinbotham.

Hickinbotham’s renowned vineyards once supplied fruit to high-end Aussie wines like Penfolds Grange. Now flexing muscles under its own label, this vintage was made by Charlie Seppelt and Napa Valley winemaker Chris Carpenter. The Napa influence is evident via opulent chocolaty, vanilla and milky coffee notes, alongside ripe cassis, plums and earthy, woody spice. The palate is more structured than the nose suggests, the silky fruit supported by muscular, tight-grained savory tannins, suggesting this wine will cellar nicely until 2029 and likely well beyond.

A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Shiraz, the 2015 The Peake Cabernet Shiraz has a deep garnet-purple color and a profound nose of baked cherries, blackberry coulis and blueberry compote with hints of cedar, violets, dark chocolate and a waft of wild thyme. Full-bodied, rich and opulent, it has a seductively complex and plushly textured palate, with tons of black fruit and spice layers, finishing long and perfumed.

The 2015 Cardinale is heavenly juice made from 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot that’s from a number of AVAs in Napa Valley. This gives way to a full-bodied, elegant, impressively concentrated 2015 that has the deep, concentrated fruit of the vintage, yet stays fresh, lively and graceful on the palate.
