Course Topic - ETHICS:
What would you do when faced with an ethical situation? The class will be an interactive review of real life situations experienced by various tax preparers. Attendees will receive a description of a situation that took place in their office. They will be asked to evaluate if this situation presents an ethical question/Circular 230 situation. What the possible options to address the situation while keeping our practice and our wits intact?

Gary Quackenbush is currently President of CSTC at the state level and Past-President of the California Society of Tax Consultants, San Diego Chapter.
Gary Quackenbush operates his Financial Solutions law practice, GQ LAW, out of the Rancho Bernardo area in San Diego, California. Since 1988 his emphasis has been tax and financial problem solving and implementing solutions for tax problem resolution such as; Offers in Compromise, audit reconsideration, appeals, installment agreements, bankruptcy, federal district court actions, federal tax court actions, etc. His estate planning practice focuses on wills, trusts, and estate administration including probate court work. His office handles civil litigation cases such as personal injury, contract disputes, property disputes, and business matters. His business consulting involves choice of and formation of business entities such as sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and Limited Liability Companies.

-No-Show is defined as a member or non-member who made a reservation for a meeting, did not pay for the meeting at the time of reservation, failed to cancel their reservation by 10:00 a.m. TWO days prior to the meeting and did not attend the meeting. -No-Shows will be billed the Chapter's cost of the dinner, because they failed to attend, failed to pay for it in advance and failed to cancel the reservation by the 10:00 a.m. deadline. - No-Show member or non-member who made a reservation and paid will not receive a refund, unless they cancel their reservation by the 10:00 a.m. deadline. Otherwise, "no-refund" is given.
