SAME Phoenix Post- October luncheon

You are invited to attend the Phoenix Post October luncheon!

Please welcome our guest speaker, Captain Dennis Chamberlain. He will share the history of the Arizona Army National Guard.

Captain Dennis Chamberlain was born in Jacksonville, Illinois but spent most of his growing up years in Arizona, near the base of the Superstition Mountains. He comes from a long line of military service as there have been family members serving our country all the way back to the Revolutionary War. A Great Uncle, General Joshua Chamberlain earned the Medal of Honor at the battle of Gettysburg. It comes as no surprise, when Dennis, too, joined the Army in 1995 at the age of 17. He attended Arizona State University where he played rugby and baseball, and focued on construction management, before joining the Army National Guard in 2001. Dennis has been deployed three times to various locations, including Afghanistan and with the famed 158th Infantry Regiment "Bushmasters". While serving as an Army Ranger during his tour in Afghanistan, he was injured on multiple occasions and was awarded the Purple Heart and pending another Purple Heart, he has also beed submitted for the Bronze Star with Valor (awarded Army Commendation Medal with Valor), and Bronze Star. Dennis is an Infantry Officer as well as an Engineer Officer and is currently assigned to the 253rd Engineer Battalion. Dennis soon will have 25 years of service with 20 year of service in the Arizona Army National Guard.
