  • Review the Illinois Administrative Code of Conduct that could jeopardize a clinician’s professional license in the State of Illinois
Summary:

This workshop will focus on professional ethics and best practices that are critical for social workers, counselors, and other professional therapists/clinicians who work in a school or clinical setting as clinicians or supervisors. It is the responsibility of all therapists to possess the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver competent and ethical services to clients. It also ensures the responsibility of the profession to protect the welfare  of every client.

Afternoon Cultural Competency Objectives:

Summary:

With the world becoming more and more diverse, therapist sensitivity has taken a new importance in our professional roles and places of employment. A shift in continuing the quest to be culturally competent reflects moving from specific knowledge about a population to a person-centered focus that acknowledges the complex intersectionality of the client’s world. Cultural humility includes awareness as well as sensitivity to significant cultural issues of others while deliberately reflecting on one’s values and biases. This workshop will assist participants to understand ways to build on their cultural humility and consider ways to create healthier environments with clients and at the workplace.
