Utilizing Expressive Arts Activities In Your Practice To Engage Children 

This training event will award 2 contact hours for licensed Social Workers with the NYSED State Board for Social Work* and licensed Mental Health Counselors** and licensed Marriage and Family Therapists*** with the State Board for Mental Health Practitioners  and 2 CASAC renewal credits.

This workshop will increase your therapeutic skills by offering concrete descriptions of Creative Arts Activities to engage children. You will leave here feeling more confident to help your clients gain self-awareness, self-soothing skills and improved expression through these dynamic modalities.

Presented by: Suzanne Kornblatt, LMSW, the Director SIBSPlace, Joanna Formont, LMHC, Coordinator SIBSPlace, & Kerri L. Wagner, MA, CAT, Child & Family Life Specialist SIBSPlace, South Nassau Communities Hospital. Ms. Kornblatt monitors overall operations of the SIBSPlace program including supervising the creation of the children's monthly therapeutic curriculum, planning and facilitating on-site and off-site special events and providing support and guidance to program participants.

REGISTRATION FEE: There is a non-refundable registration fee of $10.00 per person that includes a certificate of attendance, or the certificate of completion for LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT and CASAC renewal. Registration fees must be submitted prior to the event. All fees are non-refundable.

Mental Health Association of Nassau County, 16 Main St., 2nd Floor Training Room, Hempstead, NY 11550. Metered parking is available in two locations: on Main Street, across from the MHA and on Cooper Street behind the building in the Parking Garage.  Go to www.mhanc.org for driving directions. Parking expenses are not included in your registration fees; please bring quarters for the meters. Dressing  layers is recommended due to room temperature variations.   Please, no audio or video recording.
