AB 1825 Sexual Harassment Prevention and Awareness

This seminar is for employers to understand the legal duty to maintain a workplace tha is:  

• Free of harassment and abuse.

 • Free or retaliation. 

You will learn and apply the important skills of handling sexual harassment issuses and complaints. It will also address the elements of how to prevent unacceptable behavior and includes a detailed overview of what sexual harassment is, explain, legal definitions, discuss sexual harassment prevention, and how to maintain a positive work environment. 

Speaker: William Betley, attorney with Akinson, Andelson, Loya, Rudd and Romo

William practices in all areas of employment law including unlawful harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, employee classification, and wage and hour.  He also counsels and represents architects, engineers and subcontractors in all phases of construction planning, development, negotiation and litigation.

He received his bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and History from the University of Rhode Island. He received his Juris Doctor from Southwestern University. Mr. Betley is a member of many employement organizations which includes chairperson for Inland Valleys Employer Advisory Council and is currently the Vice President of the CEAC for region 7. 

Mr. Betley is a frequent speaker of PIHRA, SHRM, multiple EAC's, numerous business organizations, rotary clubs and Chambers of Commerce on employment issues, including unlawful harassment, disability, discrimination, leaves of absence, workplace violence, employment legislation, drug testing, worker classifications and hiring and firing issues.
