CoCEAL Membership Meeting

at Aims Community College-Greeley Campus

Please join us for our exciting Fall Membership Meeting at the Aims Community College-Greeley Campus. We will have a representative from the Community College System share information about the state of community colleges. We will also be joined by Dolores Huerta, an American labor leader and civil rights activist who, with Cesar Chavez, is a co-founder of the National Farmworkers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers. Finally, we will conclude our exciting day of community with a keynote from Dra. Susana Munoz. Her scholarly interests center on the experiences of underserved populations in higher education. Specifically, she focuses her research on issues of access, equity, and college persistence for undocumented Latina/o students, while employing perspectives such as Latino critical race theory, Chicana feminist epistemology, and college persistence theory to identify and deconstruct issues of power and inequities as experienced by these populations. Her talk will focus on her research with students who are undocumented and action planning for campus community support as DACA hearings begin in early November.
