Rural Enterprise Exmoor Workshop and Networking event 

24 October, 12.30pm, Moorland Hall, Wheddon Cross

An opportunity for businesses across Exmoor to come together for a free business networking and workshop session on the 24 October 2019 at the Moorland Hall, Wheddon Cross, to kick start the Rural Enterprise Exmoor initiative, which seeks to map and review current business activities across the moor and to gain wide range of views from businesses around the challenges they face and future opportunities.

Whilst the event is free, advanced booking is essential and a non attendance fee of £10 may be invoiced for non-attendance if not notified in advance in order to reduce waste and catering costs.

Draft programme

  • 12.30pm - Networking opportunity  (see below for details of stands confirmed to date) with buffet lunch from 12.45pm
  • 2pm - Welcome, Robin Milton, Chairman, Exmoor National Park Authority.
  • 2.05pm - Introduction to Rural Enterprise Exmoor, Dan James, Sustainable Economy Manager, Exmoor National Park Authority.
  • 2.20pm  - Growing a buiness on Exmoor - case studies from Wicked Wolf Gin, West Country Blacksmiths and Singer Instruments.
  • 2.50pm - The role of the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership supporting rural enterprise on Exmoor - Eifion Jones, Chief Operating Officer, Heart of the South West
  • 3.15pm - Understanding Exmoor's rural economy - WaveHill
  • 3.30pm - Workshop session
  • 3.55pm - Sum up and close
