The 2019 Holiday Benefit Concert

Logo for the Folk Project benefit concert for MUF

The 2019 Holiday Concert will be held on Friday, December 2oth at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship. The beneficiary will be the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship.

The festivities start at 7:00PM with participatory caroling lead by the charming Andrew Dunn. The Concert starts at 7:30PM. A minimum suggested Donation of $15 is requested. (children 12 and under free with a paid adult)

The evening will be filled with fun, songs and good cheer. Hosted by the delightful antics of Bob McNally. The main performers will each contribute their own style to songs of the season, from the very serious to the seriously silly. The evening will delight and entertain all.

Providing festive cheer for us will be:

The Kitchen Girls came together, via  the Folk Project, through their love of old  time music and late-night consumption of  caffeinated hot beverages.  Rachel Streich is  an accomplished fiddler, multi-  instrumentalist and vocalist; Jill  Lagerstrom  is an avid banjo player and  vocalist; Katie  Weiss adds some punch with  rhythm guitar  and vocals. They will play a  seasonal  selection of traditional songs and  Appalachian fiddle tunes.

The Mother Pluckers is Tracy Roskam, Beth Bachmann, and Jennifer Bross.  The Mother Pluckers ukulele study group came together one year ago.  They have since, been working on their finger-picking (and, of course, plucking) techniques.

The One Uke Wonders: Beth  Bachmann, Kevin Coughlin, Danny  Vento, Mike Sagurton and Bob  Kammer  came together to work on a ONE  ukulele/5 person song for the 2019 New  Jersey Ukulele Festival open mic  contest. They tied for first place  and were the opening act for the Saturday evening headline performance.

Martin Swinger’s songs span Alzheimer’s, Autism, Oysters, Fish, Dogs, Plastic, Paper Boats, Betty Boop and Love. He tells personal and universal stories which resonate with his listener’s imaginations and hearts. A life-long performer, Martin Swinger sings Songs Worth Listening To.

The Poor House Pickers are and Bob Cole, Marvin Perkins, and FiL Wisneski. The Pickers play acoustic Americana, with a special love for those singer-songwriters who have a healthy understanding of, and appreciation for, the folk and country music of their roots.

Dennis Mc DoNoUgh! writes,  sings, and  plays a caustic guitar.

He performs "Irreverential, Iconoclassic  FOLK  Songs From The Far Side" and  occasionally  appears in the guise of one  (or more!) of his  alter-egomaniacs.

Dennis comes not merely to entertain  but  also to educate, inform, enlighten,  incite and inspire. "Dig it yourself!".

Chrissy Roberts is a singer songwriter from Bayonne NJ. She is the creator of 4 albums including: Patchwork, Handcrafted, Kid Notes and recently released Songs on the Fire Escape. Her music was recently placed in the movie “Like Us” which won best local film at the Golden Door Film Festival.

Keep the sleigh bells ringing and jingle bells jingling! Hope to see you on the 2oth of December!
