Taking Care of Yourself and Supporting Maximum Independence in Individuals with Disabilities

Ron will discuss the following:
  • Embracing challenges
  • Inspiring all those who care about those with disabilities
  • Taking care of  yourself so that you can strongly support someone with a disability (accepting your weaknesses and renewing yourself to do better than the last day)
  • Discussing how the growth of people with disabilities, and without, will teach individuals to strive and achieve

After receiving his PHD at Kent State University, Ron began his career at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center as a Special Education Career Specialist. After 20 years at CVCC, Ron retired and became a Career Tech Consultant for the State of Ohio.

Currently, during the week, Ron is taking care of his 3 amazing grandchildren. He and his wife, Jenny, are also very involved in the International Faith and Light Movement. This movement is all about seeing the inspirational and leadership potential within people with disabilities to help everyone strive. Ron stated that the International Faith and Light Movement “has been an amazing thing in our lives. It helps us see individuals with disabilities strive, and overcome weaknesses. It also helps us learn to accept our own weakness and strive. It has truly been a blessing.”

Childcare will be available at this meeting.  In addition, Game Night will be available for teens in high school - adult.
