MSK Ultrasound Training with

Trigger Point/Dry Needling Instruction 

MSK Masters announces collaboration with Dr. Steve Coppola of Coppola Physical Therapy to provide diagnostic hands-on training using MSK ultrasound.

By providing a 3-Step approach to learning MSK diagnostic scanning and image reading, the course also presents the application of dry needling. Ultrasound imaging specifically identifies myofascial trigger points, specific myotendinous anatomy that can then be accurately targeted for dry needling procedures.  Focused and targeted treatment yields optimal outcomes and significantly elevates the physical therapist level of certainty of providing superior treatment.

**NOTE: The focus of this 2-day hands-on workshop is on MSK ultrasound scanning and imaging techniques. If you are not interested in the dry needling portion, you will still gain valuable instruction and practice scanning the musculoskeletal system.

Who Attends?

Physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers and all healthcare professionals interested in learning musculoskeletal imaging with ultrasound.


  • Develop MSK imaging skills for the upper extremities
  • Demonstrate and participate in practicing scanning protocols for diagnostic exams
  • Learn normal sono-anatomy in the upper extremities.
  • Learn diagnostic imaging for upper extremities 
  • Be exposed to proper probe placement, patient positioning and scan protocols
  • Be able to describe and produce “in-plane” and “out of plane” ultrasound guided techniques
  • Learn ultrasound guided injection techniques specific for each region
  • Understand the clinical presentation of neuromuscular dysfunction
  • Demonstrate competency with MSK ultrasound guidance combined with dry needling
  • Question/Answer time with faculty
