Program Description:
The advances in assessment and treatment of valvular disease continues to evolve rapidly in recent years. Non-invasive evaluation, transcatheter therapies and surgical techniques are undergoing progressive change. This symposium is aimed at providing surgeons and cardiologists working in the field with the latest updates in each of these areas.
Learning Objectives:
Session 1
1. To review recent and new randomized trials for aortic stenosis.
2. To explore established and new approaches to aortic regurgitation management.
Session 2:
1. To examine the natural history of tricuspid regurgitation with medical therapy and after surgery.
2. To describe upcoming randomized controlled trials in tricuspid regurgitation
Session 3:
1. To explain echo assessment of post-intervention Valvular Heart Disease
Session 4:
1. To review the outcomes of surgery for mitral regurgitation
2. To recognize a new classification for functional mitral regurgitation
