Calling all pastors, priests, deacons, religious, parish staff, stewardship committee members, finance & parish council members, faith formation directors & teachers, Catholic school administrators & staff, lay leaders & volunteers & ANYONE looking to make stewardship a way of life in their parish!

Workshop #1: MISSION DRIVEN FOUNDATIONAL HOSPITALITY

This is a FREE stewardship workshop open to anyone looking to make stewardship a way of life in their parish or school.  This workshop will include lunch for all participants.

 Description: Hospitality is a key element of our diocesan mission, Courageously Living the Gospel. It is also one of the seven pillars of stewardship. Join us as we explore living out the ministry of hospitality in two sessions from two outstanding professionals from St. Joseph's Hospitals - BayCare Health System:

DISCERNING WHO THE STRANGER IS 

 presented by David Karchut, MDiv, MA, Mission Education Specialist  

David Karchut, MDiv, MA, is the Mission Education  Specialist for St. Joseph's Hospitals and the John Knox Village. In his capacity at BayCare, he serves on the Ethics Committee, educates clinicians and community members in areas of Catholic theology and identity in a complex health care environment, Advance Directives, as well as Nurturing Resilience for caregivers among an array of topics. David holds a Masters of Divinity and Theology degrees, and has extensive experience in pastoral counseling.

LIVING OUT THE MINISTRY OF HOSPITALITY IN PRACTICE

presented by Karen Telser, Director of Volunteer Resources & Services

Karen Telfer is the Director of  Volunteer Resources for St. Joseph's Hospitals at all five locations.  She  joined BayCare in 2011 as a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital-North.  Shortly after, she was hired as their Auxiliary Coordinator, promoted to Manager of Volunteer Resources and Gift Shop operations in 2015, and  promoted to her current position in May 2019. 

 Karen earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Florida.  Her professional background encompasses mental health, human resources, education and retail.  She is a native of Tampa.  She is very passionate about the ministry of volunteerism.
