GENERAL INFORMATION
This class is intended for arborists with minimal or limited experience climbing trees with rope and saddle. It is preferred that students bring their own gear to learn on their own equipment, however, a minimum amount of PPE and climbing gear will be available at the class.
All students will be leaving the ground and moving around the tree but always with an instructor in close proximity in the tree to maximize climber instruction and safety. The primary objective of this course is to teach students a basic understanding of proper climbing methods, safety working in trees, and to have a basic knowledge platform to start a career as a tree climbing arborist. Much more on-the-job-training will be required to gain proficiency.
Important: You will be asked to sign a waiver prior to the class beginning. Please be advised that climbing trees with rope and saddle requires a modest amount of physical agility and modest to high capacity cardio-fitness. Our instructors reserve the right to reject students that they feel are not sufficiently fit to safely complete the tree climbing exercises required to complete the class. Refunds will be available. Our instructors also reserve the right to reject student gear they deem unsafe for use. Some loaner equipment will be available.
Who should attend: This class will afford you the opportunity to learn to climb trees using the latest, most efficient climbing techniques used in modern arboriculture today. This is a great opportunity for tree
service companies to send recent hires and get back an employee who is trained in the latest safe efficient climbing technology.
Limited Capacity: This class has a very limited capacity, (just 25 students), and we expect to have high demand and it will fill up fast. First come first served.
