Strategic, Tactical and Resilient Interdiction of Violent Extremism (STRIVE) 

The Professional Development Institute in partnership with FEMA is proud to host "Strategic, Tactical and Resilient Interdiction of Violent Extremism."

This course is designed to bring first responders and community members together to learn and engage in meaningful discussions about the principles and practices that form the foundation of countering violent extremism in our nation's communities. 

This course will help Public Safety:

  • A chance to enhance credibility/agency with the core communities you serve
  • Start a conversation with your community about an issue that affects/is important to all of us.
  • Meet new people in your communities who self-identify as collaborators and partners.
  • A chance to develop new relationships/strengthen old ones.
  • Discover what messaging and tactics resonate most effectively with you community
  • Learn what community members’ hesitations and concerns are about violent extremism, and come away with a better understand of how to address them.

Benefits to the Community include:

  • Work with public safety professionals to build relationships that empower the community
  • A collaborative environment where community members and public safety professionals discuss proactive and practical ways to prevent violent extremism and build resilience.
  • Law Enforcement cannot prevent violent extremism alone; safe communities require collaboration and partnerships among the whole community.
  • Learn to take proactive steps toward preventing extremism from taking root.
  • The relationships you create at this event will extend beyond preventing violent extremism. Build a stronger community by fostering collaboration and understanding between public safety professionals and the communities they serve.

The audience for this new course is:

  • Community Leaders
  • Law Enforcement Professionals
  • Local, state, tribal and territorial government leaders
  • Campus community members

There is NO COST to register and attend this course. Attendees are responsble for their own transportation, lodging and meals.
