January 29, 2020 - Elementary Peer Mediation

Peer Mediation is the process wherein disputants (students in conflict) are brought together with two student peer mediators, to communicate, negotiate and resolve their conflict in a manner that is satisfactory to the disputants. Peer mediation is an essential part of any school's Conflict Resolution Program.  It is based on student-to-student communication and conflict resolution.  The student peer mediators are trained in conflict resolution skills and the peer mediation process.

This elementary school peer mediation training discusses, among other things, how to implement and sustain a peer mediation program in your school and how mediation has been proven to reduce incidents of school violence.  Each participant will receive the NJSBF guide entitled The FAQs of Peer Mediaiton, along with relevant handouts that will aid them in supporting their current program or in developing a new peer mediation program for their school.

This program is FREE for the public.

Breakfast and registration will begin at 8:30am.  Lunch will be provided.

5.5 Professional Development credits are available to participants who attend the full training.

In the event of registration being closed, email Elissa Zylbershlag at ezylbershlag@njsbf.org the following information for each person you would like added to a wait list:
