Aerosol Chemical Weapon Instructor by AERKO 

The Saint Paul Police Department Professional Development Institute (PDI) in cooperation with Aerko International will host Aerko Aerosol Chemical Weapons Instructor Training.

Generically referred to as Pepper Sprays, Aerosol Subject Control Sprays have been in general Law Enforcement and Corrections use for thirty years. As focus on other intermediate force tools have taken up limited training time, aerosol weapons training has been limited, resulting in poor performance and reduced usage of this valuable tool.

 This Two Day course will integrate product knowledge, with updated use of force models and more detailed drills to aid instructors in developing their officers psychomotor skills and confidence in the sprays.

 WHO SHOULD ATTEND

 Defensive Tactics Instructors

Intermediate Force Instructors

Tactical Aerosol Weapons Instructors

Law Enforcement and Corrections Officers

 COURSE OBJETIVES INCLUDE

 Knowing the history of Aerosol Chemical Weapons and the Modern Agents used in 21st century systems.

 Understanding use of force concepts with focus on intermediate Force Control Aerosol Sprays.  Articulate the need response to resistance and after action report writing will be included.

Physical Effects and First Aid for persons exposed

 Developing drills and scenarios to improve decision making and psychomotor skills development.

 Deployment of Tactical Aerosols including area treatment devices and crowd control foggers.

 REQUIRED EQUIPMENNT

 BDU pants for ease of movement

Duty Belt with training weapon if possible including OC pouch

Towel and T Shirt for exposure to live agent

(recerts exempt)

 The program will consist of two eight hour days

 Day one, 5 hours classroom 3 hours hands on drills

Day two, 3 hours class room 4 hours practice exercise one hour examination

 INSTRUCTORS

 Kevin Dallett, Aerko International

Kevin has been involved in manufacturing and training on Chemical Weapons almost 30 years.  Kevin received his first Chemical Weapons Certification at the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers in 1988, is a Charter member of International Law Enforcement Trainers Association and has been an expert witness in State and Federal Courts in cases involving Aerosol Chemical Weapons

 Scott Fowler Instructor

 Scott Fowler has been with the Oregon Department of Corrections for 25 years, he has 17 years of tactical experience.

 Besides being an Aerko Instructor Trainer, Scott is a Use of Force Instructor, Krav Maga Instructor and Firearms instructor.  Scott is also a Taser instructor and cell extraction instructor.

 John Taber Instructor

 John Taber has been with the Oregon Department of Corrections for 15 years.  John is an NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor, Krav Maga Instructor, Taser Instructor and Crisis Negotiation Team Leader as well as being an Aerko Instructor Trainer.

COST: $430 per person / 3 or more from same agency $380 per person
