This deep-dive week-long institute will feature local networking and an International Dyslexia Association (IDA)-accredited Basic Orton-Gillingham (OG) course for K-3 educators led by Ron Yoshimoto. Participants will receive extensive preparation and instructional materials to implement OG methodology throughout the school year, complete the basic 40-hour IDA-accredited OG course, receive three transcripted graduate credits, engage in professional networking, and enjoy refreshments and receptions provided on the UP campus. Program registration is $1,000.
Not only is Ron Yoshimoto the co-director of Orton Gillingham
International, but he is also our Master OGI Instructor. Ron has focused
his expertise on developing the OG methodology for training public
school teachers in the general and special education environments using
OG, OG Advanced methodology, preschool literacy/numeracy, focused
intervention, reading comprehension strategy (called “Connections”) and
multisensory math. His devotion includes countless materials that he has
developed and shares selflessly with participants. Ron's life has been
dedicated to teaching Orton-Gillingham to both general and special education audiences for the past 30+ years. His excellence as a trainer, the devotion of participants and his ongoing support of students and educators exemplify the level of commitment that creates change.
