San Antonio Regional Hospital (SARH):
Focus on the Patient in the New Era of
Opioid Prescribing

In collaboration with Health Services Advisory Group
Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HSAG HIIN)

This class will include a patient story, overview of strategies for opioid reduction at SARH, Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)—causes, effects, and outcomes; HSAG HIIN resources for addressing this area of harm, table top discussion, and commitment to action. This presentation will give you tools to bring back to your organization.

Objectives:

Upon completion, the participant will be able to: 

  • Analyze the OUD disease process, its natural course, and how treatment alters it.
  • Explore the National and California landscapes of the opioid crisis.
  • Discover interventions, resources, and clinical practices to improve person-centered care.
  • Identify action items and reinforce community efforts to find solutions.

Archibald Avenue north to Interstate 10 west, exit Euclid Avenue. North on Euclid to Arrow Highway. Turn east (right) on Arrow Highway and proceed to the seven signal. At 5th signal, Arrow Highway turns into San Bernardino Road. The hospital is located on the north side of San Bernardino Road. Park at the baseball field immediately east of the hospital drive entrance.

From San Diego/Corona Area:
Interstate 15 north, to Interstate 10 west, exit at Euclid Avenue. North on Euclid to Arrow Highway. Turn east (right) on Arrow Highway and proceed to the seven signal. At 5th signal, Arrow Highway turns into San Bernardino Road. The hospital is located on the north side of San Bernardino Road. Park at the baseball field immediately east of the hospital drive entrance.

From Los Angeles Area:
Interstate 10 east, exit at Euclid Avenue. North on Euclid to Arrow Highway. Turn east (right) on Arrow Highway and proceed to the seven signal. California 57 Freeway north to Interstate 10 east, exit at Euclid Avenue. North on Euclid to Arrow Highway. Turn east (right) on Arrow Highway and proceed to the seven signal. At 5th signal, Arrow Highway turns into San Bernardino Road. The hospital is located on the north side of San Bernardino Road. From San Bernardino Area:

From High Desert Area:
Interstate 15 south to Interstate 210 west, exit at Campus Avenue. South on Campus to Arrow Highway. Turn east (left) on Arrow Highway and proceed to three signals. At 1st signal, Arrow Highway turns into San Bernardino Road. The hospital is located on the north side of San Bernardino Road. Park at the baseball field immediately east of the hospital drive entrance.
